Before they were grandparents, they were legends.
Last July, we held our first intergenerational storytelling event in Vancouver’s historic Gastown district and were able to breathe life into the photos and stories we share online. Next week, we are proud to host our second storytelling event in Vancouver’s Athletes Village under the theme of sport titled, “Before they were grandparents, they were champions”.
Our event happens on April 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. - stay tuned for more information. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in attending our event, don’t hesitate to contact Lizzy at the RSVP details above.
Social Media Lessons From Your Grandmother
Though our Before They Were Grandparents Tumblr is aimed at sharing and collecting stories of our grandparents in the digital age, we have to mention a photography project that put a smile on our faces. Created by Chacho Puebla, “Grandmother Tips” is a humourous look at the lessons our grandparents never taught us about Facebook, Twitter, and more.
Before they were grandparents, they were…
“Before They Were Grandparents” is an integrated initiative which celebrates the stories of our grandparents through social media. With help from social media agency Village&Co., we hosted a live, intergenerational storytelling event to launch our Tumblr. This event truly captured the spirit of this online project offline, breathing new life into these photos and stories we share with you.
